But Let's Not Be Maudlin by Joanne Mellin is a collection of 41 free verse poems written from 2001 to 2017, with drawings by the author. The book is divided into five sections, each with a theme as follows:

1-Chilhood, 2-Anxiety, 3-Life, 4-Addiction and Recovery, 5-Old Age. Some of the poems may belong to more than one category--such is life.

Joanne's poetry is autobiographical, with poetic license taken in some instances with dates, sequence of events, and some names have been changed to protect privacy.
