This collection is rooted in the tradition of Mountains and Rivers poetry of China, haiku of Japan, and Imagist-influenced poetry of twentieth century Western writers. It is strongly influenced by the writing of thirteenth century Japanese Zen master Dogen and the author's long practice of Zen. It takes you from the mountains and valleys of Northern New England to a death bed in a modern hospital and many places in between.
