Handmade Greetings Boxed Cards - Happy Holidays

Handmade Greetings Boxed Cards - Happy Holidays

Long before the Christmas tree filled the parlor, evergreen boughs and pinecones were bringing color to winter. Pinecones carried meaning in the ancient world, where they appeared in Roman and Mesopotamian art as symbols of life that endures through the cold months. Evergreens did the same for people in northern Europe, who hung green branches indoors to remind them that spring would return. Over time the greeting "Happy Holidays" grew into a warm, all-season wish, and this card honors both traditions.

The front is printed on a kraft-look background covered in sage-green botanical sketches of pinecones, holly, ferns, and berries, like a page from a naturalist's notebook. At the center, two raised black panels hold "happy" and "holidays" in white script, lifted off the card so the words stand out. A raised gold foil border frames the whole design and catches the light as the card turns.

Inside, the verse reads: "Warmest wishes this holiday season."
