Becca Newton Takes the Helm as Myti’s new CEO

Myti, the Burlington-based online platform designed to empower local retailers to reach more local customers, has announced that Becca Newton will step into the CEO role, effective immediately. Founder and former CEO Bill Calfee will serve as Chief Visionary Officer.

Newton brings 20 years of experience in the tech and B2B service sector, with a special focus on customer success, e-commerce, solutions-engineering, and start-up leadership.

“Over the past two years, Myti has focused on building a robust online platform that empowers local retailers to compete in today’s digital environment, by making it easy and convenient for neighbors to shop locally,” said Newton. “With that foundational infrastructure now in place, we are focused on new and innovative ways to help local retailers succeed – from inventory management to marketing.”

“I am very excited to pass the torch to Becca,” said Calfee. “She is the right leader to guide Myti through this period of innovation and growth, expanding our capabilities and offering for retailers.”

Myti is an online marketplace that makes it easy for our neighbors to shop local, providing a seamless way to find products from local retailers with the convenience of front door delivery.  Myti’s innovative tools and services help independent retailers capture more local sales. More than 40 local shops currently partner with Myti—including Small Dog Electronics, Lenny’s Shoe and Apparel, Phoenix Books, and The Alpine Shop – and more are joining each month.

“I founded Myti because I believe the best way to strengthen communities is to make it easier for neighbors to spend their dollars close to home,” said Calfee. “For me, it’s always been about strengthening local economies. And in my role as Chief Visionary Officer, I’m looking forward to connecting with other local leaders, who share this vision, to explore how we can leverage our collective effort.”

Newton’s announcement coincides with the promotion of Nate Richardson to Chief Product Officer and Connor Greenbaum to Chief Operating Officer. The company has also added several new staff members this summer, including Kaitlyn Harshbarger as Director of Customer Support, and Ali Scheuler as Director of Sales.
